Tenshin Nasukawa has had an explosive beginning to his career on the professional fighting stage and is widely regarded as the future of Japanese MMA. The 20 year old gained prominence for his adept skill and technique after knocking out seasoned fighters like Amnat Ruenroeng and Wanchalong. Signed by Rizin Fighting Federation, he competed in kickboxing and MMA competitions and boasts impressive records for each. Currently, his MMA record is 4 wins and 0 losses, 2. While his kickboxing record is even more noteworthy having won 26 matches and losing 0. Nasukawa is the current RISE kickboxing featherweight champion, former RISE bantamweight champion and according to CombatPress is ranked #8 bantamweight in the world.
Nasukawa caused a social media frenzy back in May 2018 when he completed a complicated and sensational rolling thunder kick. It seems like Nasukawa’s next opportunity for spotlight comes after RIZIN’s FF CEO, Nobuyuki Sakakibara, confirms that the fight between Mayweather and Nasukawa is back on for New Year’s Eve.
After Mayweather first agreed to take on Nasukawa at Rizin FF’s next event in Saitama, he later backed out due to an unclear rule set. Mayweather said he agreed to a three-round boxing exhibition without any kicks. In addition, the exhibition would only be in front of a small but high paying crowd. Mayweather went on to say, “I’m moving around with the guy for nine minutes and of course it’s gonna be the highest paid exhibition ever.” The decision for Mayweather to sign with an MMA brand is surprising as he has never competed in any other form of combat sport professionally.
However, after a tweet from Sakakibara’s unverified account, he is planning to explain the match details once he returns back to Japan. A news conference is scheduled for this weekend to share more details about the fight. Read more info about Tenshin Nasukawa Here.
